NASSAU – A mother accused of playing a role in her daughter’s murder has been granted $20,000 bail.
Ostonya Walker, 29, faces charges of child cruelty and exposing a child to grievous harm in connection to D’onya Bella Walker’s beating death on November 5.
Walker’s live-in boyfriend, Darion Smith, is charged with murder.
Prosecutor Eleanor Pintard did not object to bail for Walker at a hearing before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns.
As a condition of bail, Walker has to report to the Wulff Road Police Station three times a week pending her trial.
In order to be released, Walker’s sureties will have to lodge property papers as security.
Bjorn Ferguson and Barry Sawyer appear for Walker.
