Bail denied for man accused of killing friend

A man accused of killing his friend and hiding the body in a car trunk has been denied bail.

Normand Toussaint, 21, is accused of killing Omar Davis Jr on August 15, 2022, during an argument.

Davis’s body was found in the trunk of his car on East Avenue after someone reported a foul odor coming from the vehicle on August 16. Toussaint worked at a liquor store in close proximity to where the car and body were found.

Prosecutors say Davis visited Toussaint’s home at Orchid Lane, where he was killed. His body was subsequently placed in a garbage bag and moved to where it was found.

After being in custody for over a year, Toussaint applied for bail.

However, Justice Gregory Hilton refused the application.
