NASSAU- The Court of Appeal today ordered that Donna Vasyli face a new trial for her husband, Philip’s murder.
Police arrested Donna, his wife of 34 years, after he was found stabbed to death in their luxury home in Old Fort Bay on March 24,2015.
Donna remains free on $250,000 bail, pending trial.
In November 2015, a judge sentenced Donna to 20 years’ imprisonment after a jury found her guilty of murder.
However, appeal judges overturned her conviction and ordered a retrial in 2017.
Then, in January 2020 Donna made a final appeal to the Privy Council to block the retrial.
But in March, the Privy Council directed the Court of Appeal to reconsider its earlier decision for a retrial.
