NASSAU-An accused serial rapist who allegedly preyed on girls he met on Facebook was denied bail Wednesday.
Latario Miguel Clarke, 35, faces charges in connection to the rapes of minors, aged 14 through 17, between May 2020 and January 9, 2021.
After befriending his victims online, Clarke allegedly arranged to meet them and raped them.
Clarke is also accused of abducting a 14-year-old girl from Super Value on Nassau Street.
Clarke, of Misty Gardens, was not required to enter pleas to the charges at his initial appearance before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subu Swain.
She denied him bail because he has a pending matter of a similar nature.
Another magistrate freed Clarke on $5,000 bail in August 2020 after prosecutors accused him of procuring a 13-year-old girl for sex.
Police issued a wanted notice for Clarke in September.
And he failed to show up for his procuration case in November. As a result, a magistrate issued an arrest warrant for him.
Larry Martin, Clarke’s father, who posted his bail in the procuration matter asked to be released as his suretor.
Clarke is scheduled to appear in court again on April 7.
He did not have a lawyer.
