Biker charged in crash that killed pedestrian

Nassau, BAHAMAS- A motorcyclist is facing a vehicular manslaughter charge following a crash that killed a pedestrian.

Prosecutors say that Justin Pratt, 22, killed Carrel Fortune on April 4, 2022 as a he walked along Market Street.

Pratt is also accused of driving without third party insurance coverage.

He was not required to plead to the charges when he appeared before Assistant Chief Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain on Monday.

He was granted $10,000 bail and will return to court on October 2 to receive a voluntary bill of indictment.
