Nassau, BAHAMAS- A Bahamian man was remanded to prison on Monday after being accused of trying to rape an American tourist.
Prosecutors allege that George Osteen attempted to rape a 20-year-old cruse ship passenger on August 2.
The incident allegedly took place at Junkanoo Beach.
Osteen was not required to enter a plea to the charge when he made his initial appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.
Bail was denied and he returns to court on October 26 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
