Teen charged with 3 murders in shooting spree

NASSAU- A 16-year-old boy was ordered held without bail after being charged with three murders and five attempted murders.

The charges stem from three separate shootings this month.

The teenager is accused of the August 12 murder of Ainsley Russell and the attempted murder of Parnato Glinton at Redland Acres.

According to police, the men were outside a business when a lone gunman shot them multiple times.

On August 13, McKel Bain was shot dead in the front of his home in South Beach.

Prosecutors say he is one of two gunmen who opened fire on Bain.

The teenager is also accused of being one of two gunmen who opened fire on the guests at a baby shower in Nassau Village on August 21.

Jorodly Avril was killed and four others were injured.

He was not required to enter pleas to the charges when he made his first court appearance on August 29.

The minor is being held at the Simpson Penn School For Boys. He returns to court on December 13.
