Teens deny beating cellmate, taking his property

NASSAU- Three teens are accused of hogtying their cellmate, beating him up and stealing his commissary.

The 17-year-old teen terrors allegedly beat the victim, who is also 17, so badly that he had to be hospitalized.

They have denied charges of causing grievous harm and stealing.

Prosecutors allege the vicious beating took place on June 2 at the Bahamas Department of Corrections.

The teens are accused of stealing two packs of cigarettes, two bottles of Tampico juice, four packs of Lays Stax, two packs of cookies and a reusable bag, with a total value of $49.13.

They will appear before the Juvenile Panel on November 2.

At the time of the incident, the alleged victim and the alleged perpetrators were on remand for armed robbery.
