NASSAU- A high-ranking policeman has been accused of organizing a $25 million cocaine shipment.
Luis Andres Perez, 29, and Jaime Digiacomo, 64, of Venezuela, made the shocking claim when they appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney today.
Perez and Digiacomo claimed the officer met their plane when it landed.
They alleged that the officer was supposed to “take possession of the drugs and the plane.”
What’s more, the men alleged that the officer was supposed to help them get back to Venezuela by boat.
The men outed the allegedly corrupt cop after they pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to possess drug with intent to supply; drug possession with intent to supply; conspiracy to import drugs with intent to supply and drug importation at an arraignment.
The men accepted the summary presented by the prosecutor Inspector Timothy Bain.
However, they questioned why Inspector Bain had failed to mention the role of the “chief of police” in the smuggling scheme.
Magistrate McKinney sentenced the men to five years’ imprisonment.
They could spend an additional year in prison if they don’t pay a fine of $100,000.
