NASSAU-A man who tried to steal a $4 meal from a food store deli is in legal trouble again.
Presley McKee, 39, committed the offenses of unlawful possession and deceit of a public officer days after he was placed on probation for the food theft case.
As a result, he’ll be jailed for three months for the probation violation.
Around 5:20am on December 9, officers on patrol on Cowpen Road saw McKee walking with a bag of cement.
He couldn’t say where he got the cement from, so they officers arrested him for unlawful possession.
Additionally, McKee gave the arresting officers a false name. Once they learned his true identity, the officers charged him with deceit of a public officer.
McKee admitted those offenses at an arraignment before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis on December 13.
He was remanded to prison until Thursday, December 16 for sentencing.
