Naked man touched girl, court told

NASSAU-A naked man accused of touching a 10-year-old girl has been denied bail.

Prosecutors say the child was asleep at her home on December 5 when she felt someone touch her.

When she awakened, she saw Jason Eneas, a guest of her aunt, standing naked next to her bed. The girl’s screams alerted other residents of the home to the incident.

Police had initially charged Eneas with indecent exposure.

Eneas, 40, pleaded guilty. However, he did not agree with the prosecutor’s account.

He claimed he didn’t deliberately touch the girl because he was drunk.

As a result, the magistrate did not accept his plea.

The prosecutor amended the charge to the more serious offense of indecent assault.

Eneas pleaded not guilty to the charge at his arraignment.

He returns to court on February 2 for trial.

Eneas faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
