Atlantis croupiers deny stealing $1/2m in tips

NASSAU-Two Atlantis croupiers have been sacked over allegations that they stole more than a half million dollars in tips.

Prosecutors say Cindy Martin, 43, and Monique Farquharson, 52, were responsible for divvying up the tips among all the dealers in the casino.

They’re accused of falsifying the records of the tips committee to conceal the theft of $568,787.78 from November 2018 until April 2019.

Martin and Farquharson have denied charges of stealing by reason of employment, falsification of accounts, conspiracy to commit stealing by reason of employment and conspiracy to commit falsification of accounts and money laundering.

Martin is accused of laundering $249,669.09 during the charged period, while Farquharson is accused of washing $156.687.88.

Magistrate Kendra Kelly granted the accused $200,000 bail each with reporting conditions..

Their trial is scheduled for February 1, 2 and 4.
