ABACO- A woman accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl has been remanded.
Amanda Rachel Major, 23, has been charged with sexual intercourse with a minor of the same sex.
Prosecutors allege that Major, who is from New Providence, had sex with the teenager between February 1, 2021 through February 26, 2021 in Spring City, Abaco.
The age of consent for same sex relations is 18.
Major did not have to enter a plea to the charge when she made an initial appearance before Magistrate Ancella Evans on Tuesday, March 30.
The magistrate denied Major bail and adjourned the matter to June 10.
On that date, prosecutors will fast-track Major’s case to the Supreme Court by presenting a voluntary bill of indictment.
