NASSAU- Police have charged Fred Lloyd in the brutal beating death of his 19-year-old former girlfriend.
Police found Kendise “Pearl” Smith through a track road, off Marshall Road, with her head bashed in on January 18 after they got a call.
The murder stemmed from a domestic dispute, police said.
Lloyd, 24, of Tranquil Close, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on Monday charged with murder.
He did not enter a plea to the charge and he returns to court on March 25.
Smith’s relatives vowed to avenge her death as police escorted Lloyd into the court complex.
Lloyd appeared unfazed by the threats. For their part, Lloyd’s family told him they loved him.
Of the eight people murdered this year, two of them were women.
