Leon Chase admits assault on girlfriend
Nassau Village resident Leon Chase

NASSAU-A man punched his girlfriend after he caught her flirting with another woman.

Leon Lynden Chase, 32, of Matthew Street, Nassau Village, got upset after he met his girlfriend with the lesbian at a neighbourhood club on New Year’s Day.

Chase confronted his girlfriend, who admitted that the woman “liked” her.

The court heard that Chase punched his girlfriend in the mouth after she continued to flirt with the “sissy girl” instead of leaving with him.

It’s not known if the woman sustained any injuries. Chase and his girlfriend live together and he claimed their relationship was still intact.

Chase, a carpenter, pleaded guilty to assault at his arraignment in the Magistrate’s Court on January 4.

He risks spending nine months in prison if he gets into any trouble during his one-year-long probation.

Chase has a prior conviction for assault in 2017. He was fined $250 or six months in prison on that case.
