NASSAU- A corrections officer was arrested while trying to smuggle drugs into the Bahamas Department of Corrections.
The drugs didn’t make it inside. The officer, who works in Maximum Security, had arrived for his shift when he was searched and the marijuana discovered.
Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit were called. They arrested the officer and executed a search warrant on his home where they found more marijuana.
The officer will be charged in court on Wednesday.
He is the sixth corrections officer arrested this year.
