A jealous man caused thousands of dollars in damage after he saw his ex-girlfriend with another man.
Jian Dorsett, 39, showed up at his former girlfriend’s parents’ home uninvited—but the woman he came to see was entertaining another man.
He flew into a rage when asked to leave. Before he left, dumped Dorsett broke windows to the home, smashed the windscreen and slashed the tires on a bus parked outside the home.
Dorsett caused an estimated $2,000 in damage to the property.
He pleaded guilty to causing damage at his arraignment.
He said that he was sorry for what he’d done.
But the court heard that Dorsett had broken windows at the home in the past.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes ordered Dorsett to compensate his victim for the damage by December.
He’s also been banned from approaching his ex-girlfriend an her family.
Additionally, Dorsett has to take anger management classes whileon probation.
The father-of-four could spend six months in prison if he breaches any of the court’s orders.
