Nassau- Police enforcing the curfew meant to slow the spread of the coronavirus said a man broke the stay-at-home order to look for poom poom.
The officers arrested Cadwell Taylor, 34, on July 20 and gave him bail to appear in court on Thursday.
Officers enforcing the coronavirus restrictions stopped Taylor when they saw him walking on Toote Shop Corner shortly before 11am without a face mask.
Police also found a cutlass on Taylor when they searched him.
They asked his reason for being out and he replied that he was “looking for poom poom.”
Taylor didn’t deny telling the officers this when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes on Thursday.
The magistrate fined Taylor $300 for the curfew breach, $200 for not wearing a mask and $100 for carrying the cutlass. He faces a month in prison for nonpayment.
