NASSAU-Police shot and killed a suspect while responding to a domestic dispute this morning.
Two police officers who responded to the incident are in hospital after receiving injuries in the incident.
It all began when officers responded to call at a home at Cascarilla Street in Pinewood Gardens after the suspect had a confrontation with his mother over her morning devotion.
When the officers went inside the home, the suspect opened fire on the officers and his mother.
Constable 3637 Joey Rolle covered the mother and was shot in the back. However, he got the woman out of harm’s way.
Officers called for backup. They met the suspect barricaded inside a room.
The officers forced their way inside after the suspect refused to let them in.
The officers shot and killed the man after he fired at them.
Another officer, Corporal 3118 Jarvis Rolle, was shot in the leg.
Both officers are receiving treatment at Doctors Hospital.
