Suspect charged in Fox Hill shooting

NASSAU-Prosecutors say they’ve found the man responsible for shooting a man outside his home.

Derinardo Mott, 26, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney today charged with the attempted murder of Antoine Williamson on June 17.

According to police, Williamson and Kadisha Rolle were outside a home at Congo Court in Fox Hill when a gunman emerged from a white Honda Fit and opened fire.

Then, the gunman, who prosecutors say is Mott, escaped in the same car.

Mott faced a charge of possession of a handgun with intent to endanger the life of Ms. Rolle.

Additionally, prosecutors allege that Mott stole the 2002 Honda Fit used in the crime on June 15. They claim that he stole the vehicle from the Southwest Plaza between 10am and 5pm.

Mott did not have to enter pleas to the charges at his initial court appearance.

Magistrate McKinney denied bail and adjourned the matters to September 4. That’s when prosecutors will present a voluntary bill of indictment.
