NASSAU-A 39-year-old man is facing incest and indecent assault charges after he allegedly repeatedly raped his six-year-old girl niece.
Prosecutors allege that the resident of New Providence sexually abused the child from December 2019 through February 2020.
We have not published the man’s name to conceal the identity of the child.
He did not have to enter pleas to the charges when he appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.
Magistrate McKinney remanded the man to prison because he lacks the jurisdiction to consider bail for the offenses.
The man next appears in court on September 4. Prosecutors intend to present a voluntary bill of indictment on that date.
