NASSAU-A man who pleaded guilty to molesting a 10-year-old girl has evaded jail time, instead getting just three years of probation.
Kirk Moss, 59, was sentenced on Tuesday, January 21, after pleading guilty to indecent assault as part of a plea deal.
In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors dismissed a charge of attempted unlawful sexual intercourse.
Moss faces a year in jail, if he violate his probation or fails to pay his victim $4,000 in compensation.
Police say that a naked Moss cornered the child with the intention of raping her on August 3, 2018. However, the child’s father interrupted the intended assault and beat Moss with a baseball bat and broke his arm.
