2 arrested, guns seized after chase

Nassau, Bahamas- Police recovered two firearms and nabbed two men after their car crashed into a lamp pole during a chase.

According to police, officers from the South Central Division were on patrol around 3pm on January 10 when they received reports of gunfire in Ridgeland Park West.

On the way to the scene, the officers saw a white Japanese car speeding away. The officers beckoned for the driver to stop. However, he ignored them and turned north on to Blue Hill Road, prompting a chase.

The driver turned onto University Commons and the pursuit ended when he collided into a lamp pole near the National Insurance Board.

Police arrested the men and seized an assault rifle with 10 rounds of ammunition and a 9mm pistol containing 15 rounds of ammunition.
