
NASSAU – Police arrested a woman after she tried to cash a fraudulent cheque.
Staff at Scotiabank called police after Sandra Brown showed up with a bogus AJR Electric cheque for $9,500 on October 1.
Brown, 42, claimed that she got the cheque from a man she met on Facebook.
Brown, of Ferguson Street, denied charges of possession of a forged document, uttering a forged document and attempted fraud by false pretenses.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes has adjourned the matter to October 27.
