UB security guard charged with indecent assault

NASSAU- A security guard has been charged with indecently assaulting two students while on duty at the University of The Bahamas.

Prosecutors say James Minnis, 60, inappropriately touched the women, aged 22 and 23, on March 30, 2022.

Minnis, whose wife was in court, denied the allegations at his arraignment before Magistrate Shaka Serville.

The court set Minnis’ bail at $5,000 on the condition that he has no contact with any witnesses in the case.

He next returns to court on October 19 for the start of his trial.

In the meantime, Minnis is has been suspended from his job and placed on half pay.
