Social media star Jeremy freed from jail after guilty plea

NASSAU-Social media personality Jeremy Archer was released from prison last week after pleading guilty to breaking a window at the Auditor General’s Department.

Archer, 37, changed his plea after he spent four months on remand.

When Archer made his initial court appearance in November, he elected trial before a judge and jury. As a result, the magistrate scheduled a preliminary inquiry to determine if there was enough evidence for him to stand trial.

When Archer returned court on March 9, he said that he wanted a trial before the magistrate. He admitted to throwing a rock on October 27, 2020 that damaged the window at the Auditor General’s Department in downtown Nassau.

The magistrate sentenced Archer to four months, effective from the date of his remand, which resulted in his release.
