Nassau, BAHAMAS_ Nassau, BAHAMAS- A corrections officer, who prosecutors say plotted to kill her boss and a murdered man, has been granted $20,000 emergency bail.
Shante Taylor, 21, is accused of luring Elvardo Thompson to her Pinecrest Subdivision home on July 20.
Thompson was allegedly ambushed by gunmen and killed soon after he arrived at Taylor’s home.
What’s more, Taylor is accused of conspiring to kill her supervisor at the prison on July 30. The supervisor was not hurt.
Investigators allegedly uncovered the devious plots during a search of Taylor’s cellphone.
Taylor was initially remanded to prison until January 20, 2025.
However, her lawyer Kelsie Munroe made an emergency bail application on medical grounds.
The prosecution didn’t object to her release.
Taylor has to sign in at the Elizabeth Estates Police Station twice weekly and have her location tracked by an ankle bracelet. She’s also forbidden from contacting witnesses directly or indirectly.
Four men have been charged with Thompson’s gang-related murder.
They are Jamaal Hamilton, a close relative of a notorious gang leader, Vernal Brown, Dondre Ramsey and Shannon McSweeney.
