NASSAU-A man accused of raping a girl he met online has been committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.
Lavado Thompson, 30, will appear before Senior Justice Bernard Turner on Friday, March 26 for arraignment on charges of unlawful sexual intercourse and child pornography.
Prosecutors allege that Thompson met his 12-year-old victim on the popular social media app Snapchat and raped her in June 2020. Investigators allegedly found Thompson with a photo of the girl’s genitals.
