NASSAU- A man has been jailed for 18 months for threatening to kill his neighbour while brandishing a cutlass during the lockdown.
Kemuel Stuart, 30, flew into a rage after his neighbour’s girlfriend parked on the lawn in front of his home.
He grabbed his cutlass and went next door and threatened to chop his neighbor to death on May 2.
Stuart pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon, threats of death and violating COVID-19 lockdown restrictions on May 5.
But Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis deferred sentencing. The sentence takes effect from May 5.
Stuart said that his neighbour was his friend but he threatened him due to stress caused by the pandemic.
