Man bought car after home-invasion, cops say

Nassau, Bahamas- A man allegedly bought a used car with his share of the proceeds from an armed robbery.

Prosecutors say Randy Williams, 27, purchased a 2016 Honda Accord for $11,500 almost immediately after a home-invasion armed robbery on December 30.

It’s alleged that Williams, Dominic Stuart, 28, and another man, forced their way into the home of businessman Andrew Wilson around 9pm.

They allegedly tied up the family and robbed them of jewelry and cash before they took Mr Wilson and his wife to the Mall at Marathon. While there, they allegedly forced Mr Wilson to give them money from his store’s safe.

In total, the robbers got away with $65,000. They also took Mr Wilson’s 2020 Honda Passport, valued at $80,000, and jewelry, worth $7,200.

Williams and Stuart, who are both residents of Garden Hills, faced charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and money laundering when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on Wednesday, January 5.

Williams is accused of the rape of a 26-year-old woman.

They were not required to enter pleas to the charges and denied bail.

Prosecutors intend to fast-track the matter to the Supreme Court with the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment on March 30.
